Dear Pari
I know you live up in the sky
In a castle which can fly
It has wings of clouds
And colours of Rainbow
Mummy told me you always sit there
And listen to little girls like me
And if we are good you fulfil our wish
With your magic wand
I don’t know if you know
Next month Rakshabandhan is coming
On that day all my friends tie raakhi to their brothers
And me and my sister stand there alone
Looking at them and wishing we had brother
I am a big girl now so I don’t cry
But my little sister goes to mummy
And asks her to bring brother
Mummy answers she can not
I don’t know why she can’t
All we want is a brother to tie raakhi
So since mummy said she can’t
I am writing you this mail
Can you please wave your magic wand
And give us a brother
Who will play with us
Who can also fight with us at times
But atleast he is there
And we too can tie raakhi to him
Like all my friends.
So lovely beautiful fairy,
I know you are beautiful
As I have seen your picture
Can you
Please please please
Send us a brother

hi ehsaas ......in the morning wrote a big comment but before posting ..lo ..that power cut.........
i read this one immediately aftre cinedrella and reading the title saw cinderella as pari........to me the young lady looked\felt so angelic......................
in very simple expressions u have brought out kids longing.....in my last comment i wrote that rakshabandhan is much more than tying rakhi on brother's wrist .in fact the sacred thread is tied to the person whom you expect to be at your side at the time of difficulty .in certain mythological refrences devta's wives r described tying the thread on hubby's wrist as he is supposed to protect her.i remember from my childhood days ,pandit ji coming with yellow thread on rakshabandhan day to tie it on members of yajman's family .the idea behind might be that yajman was responsible for looking after all worldly needs of family purohit.even today in ceretain communities girls tie rakhi to female members of the family as well .along with bro sis tie rakhi to bhabhi as well .
