It was time to celebrate our success. We had finally achieved the award we were fairly competing for. Spirits were high and all four of us were ready to paint the town red. Human thoughts process every high had to be accompanied with another high led us to pub. Since all were in a celebration mood no one thought of exercising control. All of us wanted to freak out and not think sensible.
After several rounds of drinks and so called celebration of success we got into our car to drive back to hotel. The inevitable always happens when the evitable signs are ignored.
When driving I remarked how come all lights are so colorful tonight? And instead of making me realize that it was my drunken state and the success which were making a colorful light path for me my friends just laughed and said it’s the success shining on us with its glory.
On that ride to celebrate success I ignored the speed limit and traffic rules. Head on collision…Ambulance sirens, injured bodies and blood flowing freely… No more myriad of colors of success just one colour standing out RED ….
Today we are three people left to look back on our footprints and behavior. Various sessions of counseling and a wow to never drink again has still not changed how we feel about that day and success. Can never look back at the myriad of colours as all I can see is RED

Coming to take solace in the divinity of nature..
Nature which from centuries have nurtured us humans through its divinity…
Walking on the beach looking at the crimson hue of Sun lightening up the sea which is calm in itself lapping waves at shore, those surrounding mountains which has stood there facing so many storms and hurricanes, Moon in its silver shine trying to spread peace around… all trying to penetrate the perturbed state to absorb its shocking waves to make me calm. Im walking aimless leaving footprints behind me trying to retrace back in time to wipe out that particular moment of insanity. Trying to find that fourth face in those twinkling stars..
But realization strikes hard…
The enormity of the price we paid for that success ride can not be absorbed in the serenity of nature, calmness of sea, fading light of sun, twinkling stars, and crescent of moon. The vast universe also feels miniscule to absorb the shock of that price.
